­­­­­­­Darragh McCafferty graduated in 2004 with a Master of Pharmacy degree from Queen’s University Belfast and completed his pre-registration training the following year.  In 2010 he returned to the School of Pharmacy to undertake a PhD exploring the role of inflammation in prostate carcinogenesis, and in October 2013 was appointed as a research fellow, on an Invest NI-funded Proof of Concept programme, to develop Point-of-care tests to enhance the safety and efficacy of novel oral anticoagulant medicines. Since joining ProAxsis in 2015, as a R&D scientist, he has been involved in the development, validation, and subsequent commercialisation of several activity-based immunoassays.
